I am a busy parent myself and find time to train around that busy life in order to compete at a high level.
I didn't start that way though... I started using running simply as a way to help with mental health battles. My first couple of years I spent at the mid-pack at parkrun and I did horrendously in my first marathon (I was crying when I went over the line! both in pain and joy!). So I know how it feels to just be starting out.
Over the years I got faster and stronger. This was through leveling up my knowledge and having coaches myself.
I now have PB's of: 5km - 17:28 10km - 36:58 Half marathon - 1:19:28 Marathon: 2:53.01 50km 3:59.04 and multiple podiums and top 10 finishes at all distances. Particularly I am most strong at ultramarathon distances! The highlight being 2nd place in May 2021 at a 50km, only just being pipped to the post by the England Ultra Team captain!!
